put a catalytic convertor on it, make sure your O2 sensors work, turn your timing down.

The guy who did it is a dumbass. I would've read what the hood engine size said and kept going. Most of the people who do emissions know nothing of engine swaps, unless you tell them about it. But on the same token, if you make them aware of your engine swap, then they're gonna panic. Overload on their brains. You need keep your mouth shut next time and just go in next and tell them you want emissions, but at another shop. If you feel the need to blabber off, bite your tongue. If the nox is high, retard your timing. If HC's are high and your idle is screwy, change your O2 sensor. If you don't wanna get it done anywhere else, PM me and I'll do the emissions.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

Its not tough to do emissions with a swap. Just don't make mention of it as shyne said. If the car is before 96, I wouldn't even worry about a CEL so much. Most emissions regulations go body-like to body like. IE: whatever vehicle you swap the motor into, it must conform to those regulations. Sounds bad, but it is not so bad. Just retard your timing, richen it up a smidge, make sure your cat is unclogged and your EGR works.

And ditto on the emissions. Shyne is a pretty good tech. He'll make sure you pass ok, swap or no.

And no swap here, but I've got my motor modded to the hilt pretty good. Its somewhat easier to pass with standalone fuel/spark management but it takes time.

    My car is factory....

Every single performance part and or modification it has was made in a factory somewhere.

I've gotten my car to pass every year (3 years now) LEGALLY. When I had the B16 in the CRX I had a stock cat & it'd pass, but then when it didn't I used the "Guaranteed to Pass" & it worked. Then when I got my LS/VTEC (high flow cat) I would only pass 1/3 (or however many tests there are) so I've been turning down the fuel pressure all the way down & it passed 2 times like that now.

I had a 95 EJ and swapped in an older model d-series,90-93, and my car passed, barely but it passed. And again never tell the testers what has been done to your car. Shoot I am finishing up a H22 CB7 swap and lucky for me I live in Newton Co., no emissions, but just for the heck of it I want to see if my car passes also. Motor is stock but a JDM H22A. I am making sure all emissions equipment is working and taking my time.
