OBD 1 jetta question

my car will roll over and die unless gas is applied once you let off the gas it dies.....this is most likely a O2 sensor right? no smoke. good compression. check engine light is on. I can drive the car but it sucks cause i got to rev it at stop lights to keep it running.

when i hit the gas it JUMPS RPMS very fast. i cant figure this shit out. I wanna get it fixed but im tired of all the money.

It is a 2.0L 8v How much would it cost to get the 1.8T motor? I wana swapp eventually but i cant find a decent price for my budget. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

If ur going to keep the ABA setup, you should probably check ALL sensors and that o2 sensor. I had a similar problem with my old corrado, a g60 with a ton of mods and the wrong programmed chip!! It ran like poo until i put the right chip in it...

Is the car/motor stock?

that doesn't sound like an 02 problem, those cars will run fine w/ out them...

maybe some type of mass air or idle problem???

id just find a good used motor they sell those aba for like 200-500$ complete

got the mass air..will take a pic in a couple minutes..
is the idle stab. valve on the throttle body? if so, i couldn't get it off, didn't have a allen wrench set on me to take the TB off

oh yeah, you need to get a hold of a V.A.G 1551, it's a DTC, a scan tool.
you should be throwing these codes if they are the problems:
Mass Air code: 2324
Idle air control: 2231
idle air control valve: 4431

if it's the problem, you will get one of those codes, or all of them, who knows...?!?!

oh yeah, you need to get a hold of a V.A.G 1551, it's a DTC, a scan tool.

you still got the mass air flow and isv???? I also need a tps if you got it. if you can find those for a OBD I jetta 2.0 1993-1995 year range i will buy those from you now.
