well im not sure about official stages, but my 1990 vw fox wagon was completely gutted. It had a dash, a console and two seats, drivers seat was a light weight racing seat. The car did not come with power steering so i didnt have to worry about that. But i did remove the ac as well as the rear wiper assembly. The inner fenders i ditches as well. After all that i still drove it daily-lol
