if he has adjustable cam gears and they slipped, def a possiblilty i had that happen to with some old AEM gears.

if its stock cam gears, i dont see it happening because the car just wouldnt run or barely idle if it was off a tooth or more to make it have such a loss in power.

My CRX when i slammed 3rd gear, the tires would not spin, but the tach an speedo jumped. i smelled clutch and i replaced it. the disk was fried.

on a b-series trans the speedometer driven gear is on the differential so theres no way a slipping clutch would make your speedo jump.

at a independant PERFORMANCE SHOP, Master Tech doesnt qualify you for anything. i have seen the DUMBEST master techs work at shops.
