    Default Honda Knock Sensor?

In the process of a H22 swap on my CB7 and was removing the knock sensor. Well what I thought was the complete Knock Sensor. turns out that somehow I separated the Knock sensor so that the connector part is off but the threaded portion is still in the block. Now there is a very thin strand of wire that apprently was soldered onto the connector part of the knock sensor. Wanted to know if I could just solder that back on or buy another knock sensor. I would rather get a used cuz funds are tight right now. T hanks.

the only way to find out is to solder it back together. if it throughs a cel then you know it didn't work.

    good luck.

switch to a p28 ecu or ignore the CEL. you wont notice a power loss and VTEC WILL work contrary to myth. i ran without one for 2 years. no cash, no sweat. wait till you can, i seriously highly doubt that you will be able to replicate the production process of that ultra expensive microphone but if you do, hoorah. they are 98$ at autozone.

I think I will try but now worry if it doesn't work.
Spoolin I did hear that VTEC would not work with a CEL, but if I switch to a P28 which I believe does not have the knock sensor then I guess it could not throw a code for what it doesn't see. I am leaving the H22 stock, daily driver, so what all is needed to switch over to the P28. Wait, does it matter that the car is an automatic or do I just find an automatic P28. Thanks guys.

don't run a stock auto p28 on an auto h22. fuel and timing maps are way off. you could run a socketed/chipped p28 w/ h22 maps, but only if it's 5 speed. you need to fix your knock sensor if you're auto h22. that will be your simplest way.

if the car runs like ass then ull know that the knock sensor is bad, ur car will probably be in limp mode which will make it do all types of crazy things

Thanks guys. Yeah I will go ahead and get another Knock Sensor. I started this swap in March and was taking my time but in May I broke my foot so up until last Saturday when the guys and I pulled the motor, I had not worked on the car for nearly 2 months. And to top it off my reference pics I was using as write-up shots and reassembly I have no more. They were on a laptop that we sent back to Compaq. So I may be asking for assistance but hopefully everything will be cool. Thanks again.
