Its possible to get the title the same day.

Find a local insurance agency that does bonded titles, Theres one here in conyers if you cant find one and the number is770-483-3948.

Or you can get on the dmv website and print the bonded title t-22b form.
Once you have the form in your hands, DO NOT fill any blanks out yourself. Call the police to your house or if your friends with one thats even better. The police will run the vin through the state to see if the car is stolen. If its not, He will sign off on the form but if it is you might be in a little trouble.

Anyways, Once he signs off on the bonded title form, you take it back to the insurance agency and hand it to them and they will run the vin through the state to ensure there are no liens/loans on the title. If there isnt then the value of the car is determined on how to price the bond. Cars worth less thank 5k the bond is only 100.00 cars more then 5k the bond is closer to 150.00

If the car isnt stolen and doenst have any liens they will print your title bond in around 15-20 minutes, You can go to your local tag office and hand it to them and they will send you your title in 2 or so weeks or you can drive to the hapeville dmv over there around the atl airport and get your title back the same day. The hapeville dmv is the way I always do it and it only takes around 30 minutes waiting time if that.

Also, if the car is pre-86 you CANNOT get ANY kind of title for it unless it was last registered in your name but im assuming the car is 86+ since you dont even have to have a title for -86

Any other questions on this just hit me up

That is some good to know stuff! I have done a couple of salvage titles....little bit of a pain but not a huge deal....this is some good info on lost titles though. +1
