Default I have a bomb attached to my seatbelt... bombsquad??

lol i was changing out my seatbelts last night and went to remove my oem seatbelt and of course it had the airbag wires attached and I cut those off because my new EP3 seats didnt have the sensors and I plan on getting a new steering wheel so no point in them anyways.... my question is....

when i pulled the seatbelt off it had a black cylinder attached to it that said...

Warning this device has explosive material inside. Dont not tamper with or could result in serious injury..... something along those lines....

wtf is that?? I could just leave them on there.... but i would like to take it off.... any suggestions on how to remove that thing??

I think has a lot of pressure built up in it.... the Airbag sensors were attached to it.... didnt blow up when i cut them. I believe its for when you sit in the seat it activates the air bag... when you get out the air bag is deactivated. so if nobody is in the passanger seat the air bag will not release in an accident.... thats what im being told. Nobody knows what to do about it though... i guess i could leave it on there but having a bomb 12in from the crown jewels .....

It explodes when your airbag goes off. It's called a seat belt pre-tensioner. I pretty much pins you into the seat on impact. My girlfriend has MAJOR bruises on her waste and shoulder from the ones in our Jetta.

thats exactly how mine are. They fit perfect into the ep3 seats. They just arent plugged in. i guess they will be ok. I do need to get my SRS light to go off. That is getting kinda annoying

Thats a good idea. bruising is far better than a broken neck from meeting the airbag half way.

Hook them up to a 9 volt and set them off. Oh and your air bag light may come on.

You can say that again. Her face was a bit puffy from hitting the air bag but not as bad as it could have been. The worse that happened was the air bag shattered her thumb on her right hand and she is in classes that require taking a shit load of notes.

They are fun, they sound like a shot gun. Air bags are more fun, if you put them face down they will go about 30 feet in the air.
