Default 1989 toyota corolla with 4AF engine.....has a small issue....

its carbureted, and previously, it sputtered/backfired/stumbled/popped and all that before i ripped the carburetor out, and fixed the electric choke and replaced some of the vacuum lines. I put the carb back in, and it no longer sputters and all that, but when the engine is warm/hot and in-gear idling, it kinda skips every now and then like: ''vrmmmmmmPTmmmmmmmmPTTmmmmmmmmmmmmPTmmPTmmmm..... ''

I've already done searches on the internet, and nobody can tell me how to fix THAT particular issue. It's not that big of an issue anymore, but it was. And I really want to know how to fix it before it becomes worse again.

I read somewhere that it could POSSIBLY be that the timing needs to be re-adjusted though.....

a random misfire like that is often caused by incorrectly gapped or worn out spark plugs. but it could also be that your idle jet fuel mixture is set wrong also

hehehe, im a lil embarassed now....i put up this post, and then i fixed the issue before anyone gave me a real answer.....I got a little ahead of myself...It was the vacuum lines that needed to be replaced. Before, i only had a few done, and then i went out and finished replacing ALL of them, and the car sputters no more!

yep, if your old lines get cracked and leak at all it throws the fuel mixture off and will cause a sputter
