    Default dealer license

Hey. I am really interested in selling cars. I just need more information on how and where to get a dealer lisense. My dad already owns a business so we already have comercial property. So if you guys can give me some information on this i will really appreciate it.

I think it is like $300 aand fill out paper work. In some states you have to be sponcered but I think here you just pay and get it.

You have to actually have a lot and a sign and have pictures of it to prove that it exists. You also have to get a special kind of insurance and then you have to pay 300 or 400 dollars. Theres some other stuff too. Theres several types of dealer licences. What you have to do depends on what type you want.

I got mine about 3 years ago and they make you jump through hoops left and right and it is only getting harder to do. You will need...

    Insurance
$20,000 Bond (maybe $35,000 now, not sure if that law made it through this year)
Lot with an office reserved for car sales only(many counties require 1 acre)
    signs
    pictures
    Attend a siminar
Business license for the county you live in
    Fingerprint cards for background check

I'm sure I forgot a thing or 2 but you get the idea. If any of the paperwork isn't perfect, they will send it back to you and you will be delayed another month or 2.

Money will be the least of your worries. Getting approved for insurance and your bond will be the most difficult but if you have a good driving history and good credit, you shouldn't have a problem.

The company above will help you get all your paperwork together so you will get approved the first time for a fee (about $200) or for free if you get your insurance and bond from them.

I didn't think it was easy, someone told me you can just get one down here. You have to do a bunch of shit to get one in PA too.

Just to add to the list of stuff you need, they dont allow you to share office space with another company. It has to have a separate entrance and cannot have ANY common area with another buisness. Im sure theres some loopholes, but thats the facts. Also, you have to get your buisness lot approved by zoning in the county you want to establish in. And if they think theres too many similar buisnesses in that area, they you may be screwed. I heard Cobb is pretty hard to start in. I took the required seminar about 3-4 months ago... and yea, its not easy. And it is getting harder and harder in georgia.
