    Default R7 or R1?

So I have found a 99 r7 owo2 for not a bad price. Then again the new r1 is so nice and has more power then the year before with the world’s first electronic variable-length intake funnel system. So yea r7 is rare but man r1 is packed and it would be new.

I'm all for the R1 being that their great imo since I own one lol, but depending on how you want to ride, curves, mountain runs, or etc., the R7 would be a good. It's alll on what tickles you pink...

True but also who has a r7? Then again in long run r1 would have been new when I got it.

To be honest you'll be happier with the R1 imo...

Getting parts for an R7 is not as easy as getting parts for an R1. R7s were ahead of their time, but newer bikes have better geometry, chassis, engines, etc. Get an R1, throw a Ohlins shock on it, and you will have a bike that outhandles an R7, has more power, weighs less, etc. Technology advances have outpaced the R7 design.

Their cool, but 1 of the reasons that led to me owning an R1 is because the oil pump is on the back of the motor, so I don't have to worry about over filling my oil when doing wheelies.

    DK you stunt too right?

Rossi has won championships on both Hondas and Yammies, give a suzuki to Rossi and I'm pretty damn sure he will make the same results.

It truly all boils down to the rider on a stock bike..

no doubt. Back when I first got my RM125 dirtbike, my buddy that raced motocross was making me look like a little bitch lapping me on an XR200(not his, he had a YZ125). My bike was a thousand times faster than his, but he was a lot better rider than me. When it comes to lap times, the rider makes all the difference.

I hate when people say this shit....when the specs and stats are so damn close, it doesnt matter if a bike is .02 sec. quicker in the 1/4mile. What it comes down to is having the balls and skills to be able to push a bike to its limit.

Now, back on topic, I think you should go with the R1. Like you said, "who else has an R7"? Well, the answer to that is damn near no one. That being said, who knows how to work on an R7? Same answer. I think if you are planning on riding the bike, get the R1. Actually, on second thought, get the R7 as long as you can get a deal on it, then sell it to a collector for $30K, then get an R1 and have enough cash left over to do whatever you want to it plus some.

The R1 will lose value over the years. If you are able to purchase an R7 it would be a nice investment later that will never loose value because it is so rare.

R7's ran about $30K when new. A mint one will cost about $20K now. That's a loss of $10K.
Similar aged R1's cost about $10K new, and run around $4K-5K now. That's a loss of $6K.
    Your logic is flawed.

No bike are vehicle is a good investment, so with that in mind I will get the r1 instead of the r7
