Need help with tire size/brand

SO are those tire size's for

8.5 inchs wide front
9.5 inch's in the rear?

Front: 245/40-18 Rear: 265/35-18
from those numbers says the front has a larger side wall then the rear?!

thats kinda weird




and do you think the staggered fitment i want to buy (8.5 front 9.5 rear) do you think that will progress to understeer?

Im going for a crazy handling car, so anything that will reduce the drivablilty is a big no no for me


if some one can give me a Strait up number for 8.5 frount and 9.5 rear, i will strait up get them

Do you know what those numbers mean? The first number, 245 means 245mm or 24.5cm...divide that by 2.54 and that will tell you how many inches wide it is. The second number, 40, is the precentage of the first number. So 40% of 24.5cm is the thickness/profile of the tire. Obviously the last number is the wheel size.

With that said, 40% of 245 is pretty close to 35% of 265 (1.6% differance)

I would get on the Lexus boards and see what peoples experiences have been, i'm sure someone one there can tell you about clearance issues

I thought Tire sizes are expressed in the format WWW/AAXDD. WWW is the tire’s section width, measured in millimeters. AA is the aspect ratio or profile of the tire, which expresses the tire’s height as a percentage of its width. X is a letter indicating the tire’s internal construction. DD is the diameter in inches of the wheel that the tire is intended to be mounted on.
