Might wanna check pull-a-part either moreland or norcross locations. You can get lucky there. I know of a few blocks that have been pulled from there.

edit: Wait if this is the mike im thinkin bout then you already know that. Hell ask neil he has been to both lately he can tell you if there is an ABA there

well it had a 98 aba block in it. But it was rough so me and him pulled the 94 aba(forged with piston squirters) that i was gonna build then put in the motor. But i gave that to jason too when i sold it. He got everything, unfortunately i got bored one night and unloaded two can of engine paint on it-lol. But jason had it tanked and he is rebuilding it right now. Not sure if its on hold or not tho, cuz i saw pics on the tex where he was putting it in storage. Oh well i need another aba for my new fox.

Yea not sure what Jasons working on now. I think he bought that storage area at his apartements as a place to work on his cars instead of doing one of his famous apartment complex parking lot engine swaps

Who knows though, good luck with the search

Last time I went to pull-a-part there were at least 3 or 4 ABA's. That would be your best bet at finding one on the cheap. Most of them had the transmissions taken off already, so it wouldn't be too hard to pull them out of the cars.

An ABA isn't so much a crappy motor as the MkIII is an overweight MkII . The extra HP and torque of the ABA in the lighter VW platforms makes for a pretty nice package.
