Selling your altima and getting something rear wheel drive is your best bet. RWD is just so much more fun and you have many more options.
Why do you say I have more options with a rwd? Like getting different sr's? Like the black top or red top or the 250hp s15 with a 6speed tranny? Is this what you mean?
Thats not what i mean. RWD is a more versatile platform in general because generally rwd will outperform fwd in autox, road racing, drag racing, and certainly drifting. And since we dont have snow here in GA there is not reason to go with fwd if you actually want to do anything with the car. Before anyone says awd is better I agee (except drifting) but there arent that many cheap awd cars.
Hope you get through it, it's a tough road from what I hear.
Are you going FWD or AWD?
AWD is almost impossible... (make room for the tranny, axles, custom exhaust)

I have had this debate with a few Altima buddies and if you want to go through with a SR20 project into the Atima, by all means...knock yourself right on out because it's a -very- hard time. It's going to take -alot- modifications in terms of the engine bay just to make the damn thing fit, forget that you're going to need to swap it to RWD and 5-Speed Tranny to boot. There alot other problems going into this, but it's just the tip of the iceberg.
In honestly, you're best bet is to simple sell the Altima (First Gen, I suppose?) and buy a 240 and go with that.
It'll save the headache and the wallet in the long run, not to mention you'll be alot more happier.
Or hell, keep the Alty as a bolt-on DD. That's what I plan on doing...unless I can get this Maxima...mmm...Nismo goodness.

well the bluebird is a fwd but still you will need a lot of modification, I would suggest to just turbo the ka24de is your best shoot. I used to have a 97 altima and want it to do a bluebird swap but it was gonna be expensive, of course if you got the money go right ahead.
