    Default NO VTEC

    I have a 90 acura integra with LS/VTEC it has a pr3 ecu i am pretty sure its the knock sensor, we have tried grounding it out,and screwing it in the trans (not my idea, only place it would go).I found this one forum where this guy took a piezo transducer from radioshack and wired it up threw the knock sensor wire and taped it to the fuel rail and it worked.I know your actually supposed to drill and tap a hole on the alternator bracket but im lazy and tryin to find a quick remedy.I'm also not runnin a 02 sensor but I was told that you dont need it for VTEC to work.

    I have no VTEC I was wondering what my problem could be and if any of the things i have tried should work to bypass knock sensor and if anybody has any suggestions.

    not really sure my car is over my friends house where all the work is getting done but VTEC supposed to kick in at around 5300 isnt it and im pretty sure we reved it to at least 7200

    should have mentioned when we run the pr3 it will start to run really bad but if we put in the pr4 it runs perfect could that be cause its going in default mode cause of the knock sensor
