    Default heat shield???

i have a 96 integra ls and i want to take the heat shield off the factory exhaust manifold, this will not cause any problems with anything will it. stupid question i know sorry........ also what kind of negative affects are there for advancing the timing a little bit and will it really give it any more power. car has 143,000 miles on it..
thanks for your time whoever answers this....

if you advance the timing too much it could detonate and if it detonates too much you could melt pistons or valves if you really want more power you should just go turbo..... and taking the heat shield off wont hurt anything but it will probably just get the hood really hot.

You really want to do that? Why? especially when it is getting hot. Too each's own, what makes you happy.
