Default installing HID headlights with daytime lights??

Here is whats up i would like to install some HID lights on an 01 tahoe but it has daytime running lights. I ran into the problem with my 04 jetta and the fix was to use the high beams and disconect the low beams. That made the daytime lights not work but its kinda rigged does anyone eles have any ideas?

im sure there's a cable to turn off your day time running lights. hit up the Chevy dealership or some GMC forums..
    EDIT: OOPS FIXED

ps: i had them on my WRX and disconnected a wire and boom! no more drl's. good luck
