I did state technically. Because you are supposed to have RED taillights. Not black. That's why even the taillight covers of the old days had writtne on the package that they were "for offroad use only." Later, QD.

The label removed all liability from them Also ANY modifying of a DOT approved product is illegal, oem taillights went through strict testing to be approved...

If you've ever had to deal with DOT, OSHA, UL listed, etc. then you'll understand the process and paper trail of every single part and piece of equipment used by anyone in america...kinda crazy when you think about it.

I know. That's why I keep using the term, "technically." Lolol. I'm still doing it. Just not covering the whole lens. Later, QD.

i'd just do a light tint over it all. VHT used to make a Window Tint spray but i think they changed the name of it to Nite-Shades.

Note to DIY window tinters, that's what you use on the sun dots on your rear window, you vinyl up to the first row of dots then spray the top few inches...otherwise it's a bitch to scrape off the dots and i laugh at people that try to tint over them

Can you have a body-colored taillight? I mean if like Bert made his taillights the same color as the rest of his car, would that be legal (besides the fact that he shaved his reflector and his reverse light i think)?

I've tinted over 40 pairs of tail lights. Believe me, for the best quality and longest lasting finish, 1 can of black spraypaint on each tail works out the best.

One problem though ... i guess my tails were maid for film... bulbs weren't strong enough, cuz blacked out lights that i wanted realy came out to be blacked out ... 12 at night... and ass end is dark... can't even see the damn brake lights... so i had to improvise and couple of beers later skyline/accord (snowman (c) :-) ) style lights came to life... pics later... looks pretty damn good actually.
I've never tinted tail lights in my life, and maybe I'm wrong on this, but I think you didn't pick up on the sarcasm . Unless you want to get pulled over sometime soon, I would buy a new pair of tail lights and start over with film instead.
