Some cars... look good with the black out taillights...check the sig... if you plan on doing it for your car photoshop that bitch to see how it looks... and no it isn't illegel as long as the person behind you can see you braking...
I have blacked out tails, I like tham. Its just personal preference. I haven;t been pulled over and i ride past cops all the time.

probbly just a trend like neons, but least black out lights dont give u cancer like underglow
1/4 of a problem solved... another sentimental questION then... how ...
JDM = Just a Dumb MotherFu**er...![]()
Just get black spray paint and spray paint them. Make sure you tape off the car though.
And put on thick coats otherwards it'll crack.
not to be a smart ass or anything... wouldn't be easier to take em off though?

Yes you can do that too. But I'd say use atleast 1-2 bottles of black spray paint to really get a good tint to them.Originally Posted by w3bcod3r

I've tinted over 40 pairs of taillights. Believe me, for the best quality and longest lasting finish, 1 can of black spraypaint on each tail works out the best.Originally Posted by WhiteAccord

yeah, definitely depends on the car. mine would look good blacked out b/c of the black accents already on my car, but i just haven't got around to doing it yet.

I have them blacked out on my DSM.
Just go to summit and get some VHT Nightshades and a can of clearcoat.
Then just sand down the lights and polish them. Gives a real nice finish to them.

One problem though ... i guess my tails were maid for film... bulbs weren't strong enough, cuz blacked out lights that i wanted realy came out to be blacked out ... 12 at night... and ass end is dark... can't even see the damn brake lights... so i had to improvise and couple of beers later skyline/accord (snowman (c) :-) ) style lights came to life... pics later... looks pretty damn good actually.

yeah ... like promised ... here sum picz
and 1 more

if the whole thing was blacked out i think it would look better
its not illegal. just make sure u can see ur lights and everything during the day, and at night time its pretty much the same as OEM. i just put 20%-limo tint over mine and its perfectly fine.

Hail yeah! Got to be a dumbass if you think that shit's legal. Don't get me wrong, though. I have my can of Nite Shades and I'm doing it to my car, but there is a certain way to do it to stay legal. The ways you see above(the 2 Accords) are NOT legal. Though they look good as hail. Later, QD.
Thanks...Originally Posted by quickdodgeŽ
No problem. See? Don't be so quick to judge me and what I post. I do know what I'm talking about no matter how I come off. The way you have it is illegal. The thing that makes it illegal is only one.....the reflector. Technically, the reflector HAS TO BE VISIBLE to be in a legal state. That's what I'm going to do to mine. Tint the whole thing, but the reflector. Later, QD.Originally Posted by WhiteAccord
hmmm I didnt know that... but then it looks soooooo nice...
If you can't tell the differance between the driving light and brakes lights 300 feet away during the daytime IT IS illegal. With the exception of the Beretta, if just about any of you get rear ended it could easily be written as your faultOther than that it looks decent on most cars but normally just a light tint is all it takes to look good.
