    Default Treadwear problems

I have a problem with tread wear on my truck. I have replaced tires, had an alignment, balnced etc. The outsides of the front tires keep wearing down before the rest of the tire. I wanted to know if it is a suspension problem or what?

what year is your truck? have you checked your bushings?

I had a civic that kept eating up tires on one side. I had it aligned and all.. it ended up being a rotted control arm bushing that I replaced for like 12 dollars :P

Sounds like a ford lol. Could be the suspension is sitting to high with out the proper parts to counter for the tire wear.

If it is a ford, You can get brackets to drop the truck mounted side of the I beam. Otherwise the only way to fix is to bring your suspension down, or have the I beams bent.

**Note- I Dont KNOW that this is a ford. But It does sound like a ford symptom. My dads GMC was also doing the same thing. Lower control arm was actually bent sucking the bottom of the tire in.

One thing i forgot, have you checked your air pressure? I'd run about 36-38psi in a truck. Even with my brand new truck, good alignment etc i get some uneven wear. I crossrotate my tires every oil change to help balance it out and get even wear. Im a mechanic btw so i align any time its in question.
