Hi, I'm looking to make a swap on my 96' Civic Hatch. I don't know much about Engines, I need some Help..Can Somebody tell me what's Faster?? a Type R engine or an H22 Engine? Please Someone Message me with a response..THank You

it depends on what kind of power you are going for. a c5 motor (itr) will be 190 hp and 195 if it is from japan. the problem with those is you are paying SO much more money for that 20 extra horse power when compared to a gsr or c1 motor. if you went with the gsr swap and added a itr header, stage 1 stunk 2 cams, vtec controller, and a good tune you will push 190 to the fly or 163 whp. that is the same set up i had on my gsr and it pulled with itrs all day long.
imho i am not a big fan of the h22 swap. yes they are pretty quick but very very heavy and most of the time will get spanked my a ls/vtec hatch.

You need to do a ridiculous amount of research. If you live in an emissions regulated county you can not swap the car unless you spend huge dollars to get an OBD - 2 Type-r or H22. If you are still determined get the Type-r faster and better in so many ways. An H22 is heavy, the car wont handle, stop, or make u turns anymore.

I would not even consider a swap unless I knew more about it. Just
It doesn't matter what motor is fastest. What matters is the application and plans you have.
