    Default Aluminum plating..

    anyone know of any companies that have 1/4" aluminum plating.. making a custon cooling plate for the rx.. any help would be nice..
    there i did it.. what'd you think?

    You can pick that stuff up at Lowe's. 1/4" is probably a bit too thick, though.

    ¼" aluminum would be crazy thick and very heavy for that area. It'd be pretty tough to bend w/o proper tools. I wouldn't go more than 1/10". Give the Metal Supermarket a call...think there's at least 3 around. The one I went to was on Pleasandale. We bought ½" mild steel plate I used to make turbo flanges w/.

    0.040" will probably serve you nice. McMaster-Carr is probably the easiest place to order from. Do you have access to a brake?

    kinda both.. like i'm replacing the plastic shit under there but also hoping for the added affects of a cooling plate..

    Agent, there are a couple of books on aerodynamics you should probably read before you start doing that stuff. Or at least, do a bunch of internet research.
