    Default Lightening up the car

    Hey I dont want to do too much work on the engine of my gli cuz its my daily driver but I want to get a better 0-60 time so what kinds of things should I do to really lighten it up????

    If I remember correctly, 10lbs is equal to adding 1hp. There really isn't THAT much weight that you could remove to make a huge difference. Back seat, carpet, things like that. In the end you'll be lucky to have removed 100lbs for 10hp. Unless you get totally anal about it. I'm actually looking for stuff to put back IN my car.

    Probably the largest bang for your buck is the reduce your unsprung weight. This would be your wheels and tires (anything not held up by the springs). After that you could get low weight body parts.

    The biggest gain would be from getting lighter wheels.
    If you don't mind the noise, you can remove the interior trim & sound deadening. I woulden't recoment it for a DD.

    get a stage II clutch, & light flywheel. you will feel a big difference. or just get a performance ECU chip.

    light weight flywheel, wheels, and pulleys... help free up engine power and is less weight also

    agreed. plus get a fuel rail, and tune your car, it's like $80 to tune your car up at topseed. you will see a big deal of increased performance and you'll probally spen around $1,000, and you won't lose any internals. you'll have a nice sleeper.

    actually it's 100lbs, for 15hp..
    there i did it.. what'd you think?
