    Default LS/VTEC problem

My friend just installed an ls/vtec in his 00 civic si and is having trouble. If he just presses the gas down it will start to rev then bogg down. He can just keep tapping the gas and it will rev up. Can someone help.

No check engine light. He is planning to take it to a shop but I was hoping maybe it was something small like a vacuum line or something to that nature. He has had to replace his cat awhile ago because of his old b16 was smokin bad and cloged it but could this happen if the cat was clogged again.

It's entirely possible. Pull the exhaust off from the header and start it up! Same thing happened in my dads truck.

    ecu for 00 si=1.6 vtec
    ls/vtec=1.9 vtec

what you're running right now is ecu for lower displacement and different timing maps. ls/vtecs almost always need to use a socketed/chipped and tuned ecu. sometimes you can get away with running a gsr ecu since they are same displacement...think of a ls/vtec as a gsr w/ more torque and less revs.

let me know if you want a socketed/chipped ecu.
