    Default Garrett vs. HKS Turbos

Okay guys. I am not asking about a specific turbo, more of a general question.

A HKS turbo costs about 2x the price of a similar Garrett Turbo. Is it worth the extra money for the HKS with essentially the same specs as the Garrett? Is the HKS truly that much of a superior turbo to the Garrett?

Just wanted to get your opinions. Like I said, not about a specific turbo. More about the 2 brands in general.

    Thanks.

you don't need 600-800whp to do road racing, 500whp and below will be great for road racing. Throw a custom gt35r( quick spooling) on it and it will own on road courses and drag racing. Gt35 with your new engine would be deadly with hardly no lag and it would hold all the way to redline

so im guessing he is setting up his car for road racing and not drag racing?

but im sorry a gt35 IS WAY TO SMALL for inline 6

i mean look at the gt35r , the bigger turbo is being spooled by a 4, so i think if the 4 can do it why cant the 6 do it just fine

now if the car is going to be only road racin i would do twin gt30r

you're right that is a small turbo for a inline 6, he will prolly out flow that turbo. I think he wants a turbo thats good for both drag and road racing. I think he should just stick to a single turbo

hey screw u, I like small turbos on built motors. No lag makes tiger happy. Remember its not the size that counts, it all in how you use it and it applies to a lot of things in life

    LOL!

I wasnt even asking about what setup to go with! LOL.

I just wanted to get opinions on Garrett or HKS. That has no relevance on whither I go single or twins or which turbo I am going with.

Sounds like you guys suggest to go with Garrett however, no matter what I am building it for.... Thx.

Yep, noticed that. Thanks a lot man. Most people seem to agree that Garrett is just as good as the HKS.

Okay. Well with all that said, where is the best place to buy a Garrett turbo from? I have been looking at HKS for so long, I have no idea where to start looking to buy a Garrett one from!

I mean I know what I want to get, just dont know where to get it from. Let me rephrase that, the place to get the best possible deal from. Suggestions?
