    Default smoking question

ok guys i pulled apart my motor and i had a warped rod......easly fixed...($80)
i also checked my rings since it was smoking ....bad... and the rings are perfectly fine...i also replaced my valve seal....what else could it possible be? BTW this is my first engine rebuild also what kind of rod bearings should i use since there was only a small peice of metal left of the old bearings....
    any help would be nice...

not real sure...honda-tech.com is your friend but the article was actually in honda tuning not too long ago and it bumped compression nicely and they put 1200 or so (if i recall correctly) and put down more wheel power than a b16

i just read the creators last post but one would assume that if hes replacing pistons, he wouldnt be reusing the headgasket anyway...kind of common sense

No white smoke can be either oil, coolant, and fuel.

well it's getting a new head gasket, rings, and im gonna flush the fluids... oil, trans, cooolant, etc... hopefully i will have all my problems worked out with doing all that... also gonna check into a local machine shop making me some rods because just replacing one is kinda stupid and cost 142.49 from the dealership no else around here carries rods....i think i can get the local shop to make them for 80-100 out of stainless steel, but what material should i use... stainless seams kinda overboard....any suggestions

I'd check to make sure the the head is flat too. Just incase it might need decked. If one rod is bent you should check them all as well too. I had one bent in my D16y7. I at first got one new rod. When I compared the new one to the rest, I had 2 others that were bent. Ended up replacing all 4. I'm sure it was a more sound decision in the long run.
