    Default Pos. traction.

My car was spinning both tires now only one and thats the drivers side. I did change the fluid in the tranny to full syn. because of that 3rd gear grind and it stopped. But now I have a problem with the pos. traction. I use to be able to jack the front of the car up and turn one side and the other will turn also but now I do this and the tire I turn is the only one moving. Any ideas?

I have a 93 honda civic with ls swap turbo . The tranny is a 91 cable converterd to hydro. I have a problem also with it (I think) slipping when I really get on it in 2nd and 3rd gear. Now this so I dont know what it is. This was in another thread a couple of days ago.

You have a GM rearend in your civic?!!

As for the gearbox, manual transmissions don't "slip"...unless the gears are so worn down but serious doubt that will happen.

Does it have a limited slip differential in it?

Not sure on the limited slip but I know it use to lay down two black marks in first, second and third. It might have something to do with the clutch. I know its not be acting right with I really get on it 1st thru 3rd. It acts like its slipping.

Have you ever owned a manual transmission car before? Have you ever owned a turbo'd vehicle? How much power is it putting down?

This is the first turboed car I've had but not the first manual tranny. The car is at 261whp 248wtq. I just installed a 6 puck clutch all bearings and a brand new 8 pound flywhleel. I just rebuilt the engine with je pistons 20 over, eagle rods, all new bearings. The turbo starts spooling about 2200rpms. Its real fast shifting though the gears because of this.

so it must not be the clutch slipping or it would just rev up like you're riding the clutch.

Could you think of anything that would cause this? I dont know for a fact that the tires are spinning either when its doing this.
ps Ive not had it tuned yet. So at the same time this is happening the car starts busting out like its hitting the rev limiter but its only doing this when its hitting like 10-11psi and thats before 9000rpm were the limiter is. I hope Im making since.

I was wrong. When I had it tuned the first time the guys had it at 8200rpm. Stock valvetrain brand new head with 2600 mile on it.

Im not 100% sure 8200rpm is right because I dont have the dyno papers in front of me. I know when the rpms go up on the tach it goes passed 8000 if the tach is right.
