you dont HAVE to have the ECU that goes with the ZC engine, but the D16A6 ecu does not have the correct fuel map. If you want the full power of the ZC swap, go ahead and get the correct ECU. The compression of the ZC is a little higher than the D16A6, and the cams are larger... Also consider swapping the USDM CRX Si final drive into the ZC tranny, since it is lower (4.250 in the Si, 3.888 in the stock ZC tranny). If I remember correctly, the final drives are interchangeable. someone correct me if I am wrong. With the Si final drive, the tranny will be close in specs to a gen 1 B16A tranny that came in the JDM CRX SiR VTEC. good luck with it!
