"I remember the first time I had sex – I kept the receipt."
it will be horrible- just save up and buy some nopi coil overs- they are only like 100bucks and they are uber easy to install. you def do not want to cut your springs.

Are the matrix coilovers from summit worth a shit or not?
no slip on coilover is worth a shit
"I remember the first time I had sex – I kept the receipt."
^but they are a better option over cutting or heating springs- dont you agree.

definitely do not cut, melt, or alter your OEM springs at all.
Buy products that were made for the specific ride height you want
Of course, the more money you spend, the better product you will get, but if you're tight on funds, do a little research and just buy the best option you can afford.
Good luck.
Thats why I posted this it just didnt sound like a very good idea cutting or melting them thats why I was wondering there was a better/cheaper option.
thanks uproot
no problem.
Just remember if you get somethin cheap, dont be surprised with cheap results, if you know what i mean.
Just do some researching and look around.

If you cut your springs the ride will be bouncy as hell as said before. Your shocks will likely blow and then you will have to buy new coil overs, so save yourself to months of bouncing and just buy coilovers or shocks and springs now.
I don't know a whole helluva lot but I think this would definately work for your application. I don't think you need $1K coilovers for an 89 Civic. So...

I know someone with skunk2 springs and shocks they bought for $200
(used) for his 99 preludeand they work fine, and everyone hates on skunk2(well I do.) I think tokico's would be just fine. They are $530 reg. (it says) on sale for $330. To me that's a good deal.

^^^^^^^^Same question as him^^^^^^^^
just but the matrix ones of summit or some ebay ones for like 30 bucks
That might work for now i guess. Also anybody know anyone selling some cv axles for a ef?Mine sound like a consistent pistol cocking
dont go cheap, dont buy used
i have cut my springs a million times its not bad as long as you don't cut ttoo much like 2 1/2 coils in front and 2 in the rear. but after mrket ones are still better
i've also bought coilovers on ebay for 40 shipped and they weren't too bad either as long as you don't slam them
NEVER cut or melt your springs , most of the time they will end up uneven , and your ride will ride like ass! just stay 4x4 till you can afford something descent , i went with nopi #1 coilovers , lowered it too much and blew a shock , hence more money , save my friend save!

I guess thats what Im gonna do.So whats a pretty good kind to get
cheapest i have seen agx's is on ebay but thats for a 240sx since thats what i own

I have no clue why I looked this up. I think it's because I am not buying stuff for my car anymore. But hope that helps. They are KYB's and not too expensive.

the full coilover with struts skunk2 kit is 500 and is nice
Just buy Ebay coilover slip-ons for $50 shipped, I promise they'll ride just fine.
