    Is an auto or manual?

If manual then use GM Synthetic Synchromesh (3 QTS I believe), you can also get it at O'Reillys but it'll be Pennzoil brand instead of GM; which you'd have to get from the dealer.

If auto then just use Dex 3 or whatever it uses.

if it's a manual, the car has to be level when you put fluid in it

I don't about being level when draining the level but it might possibly let more oil out which allows more new oil though but yes make sure car is level when putting fluid in tranny to make sure there is enough or not enough when it starts to come out of the drain plug on the side of the tranny
