any finds on the problem?
ok , here goes , we checked the vales and they were way off , we adjusted them to spec , and then tryed to do a compression test and got no reading at all , and it still wouldnt start , before i replaced the head it did read on the tester , but the numbers were all over the place , 50 in one , 60 in another 200 in one and 90 in the last one , hence why i got the new head, i am soooooo fuckin confused , HELP! i dont know what to do from here

now you have the valves adj and comp isn't leaking out of the head try the oil again on the pistons since you've been washing the rings w/ fuel.
if that doesn't work a rebuilt may be in order.

Have you checked all of your fuses, that same thing happened to me before and it was a fuse. Also do you have gas?
And check your fpr and your starter components as well.Just throwing out suggestions.
if you had compression before and you replace the head and you don't now it's 3 things:
valve need adj (you ended up doing that)
head isn't sealing
head is shot

the valves were adjusted , and the head cleaned pressure tested and decked , could it possible be the wrong gasket?

have you ever reaplced a cylinder head before?Originally Posted by drunk.scotsm
did you torque it according to specs?sequence?
i would try a cylinder leak down test overa compression test.
i had my haynes manual , a ford mechanic and the factory service manual when i put it all back together , all torque and specs are right , are leak down tests expensive , can i get one at autozone and are they hard to do?
dnwp
they range from 75 to 150 bucks .Originally Posted by drunk.scotsm
if you can do a compression test the right way you can do a LEak down test . it will tell you where the cylinder is leaking compression
if there is no compression in all 4 cyl , would the leak down test work?
dnwp
it SHOULD tell you where the compresion is leaking fomrOriginally Posted by drunk.scotsm

its rare, but I have seen a b series jump timing once or twice. Not a lot, but enough that it is not firing at the correct time.
