    Default 20V ITB or 4AGZE!!!need help

    gota decide on a motor!!!...20V ITB awsome NA engine...high revving good throttle response...awsome ITB sound...rips panties...but parts might have to be ordered online and wont make easy HP compared to ZE OR 4AGZE supercharged 145 HP nice low end good for tearing up some hondas....ehhm ehhm response isnt as good as 20V

    I say you drop a 2jz in it and call it a day, j/k, I would go wit the one wit the better aftermarket support, but that's just me

    hmm...they are both have the same support really...4agze is popular for the boosted crowd...and 20V is the motor used for toyota/formula atlantic racing...i guess its the difference in characteristics....i just dont know what i want to go for right now...iv always loved NA tho..hmm..

    Speaking as a previous 20v owner, go with the gze


    they are GUTLESS!! imo i wouldnt bother with either. A nice high comp 16v is a much cheaper alternative to a 20v and there are WAY more parts available for it. or just Turbo a largeport 16v (non gze) they handle moderate boost just fine and take well to F/I mods.


    The real questions are: what is your budget? and what do you hope to achieve with the car its going in?

    I read up on the 4agze and you could get a good bit of power easily out of that motor, but like jesse4846 said it depends on what you want out of the car

    like i said, Largeport (bluetop)turbo/or GZE turbo first or if you want strong NA power and have some cash go Highcomp 16v (redtop from an AE92). There is a reason all the high powered Japanese guys/Formula Atlantic guys most all go with the 16v head/AE92 bottom end (piston oil squirters)...and its because its proven time and again to make insane power when the right parts are thrown at it and you can get some decent rev's into.

    yeah i wish i had no cash limit but unfortunately i do...still trying to decide...always wanted to run an ITB'd 16V/20V but then i said i was going to build an 86 that was for the street which i think the GZE is calling me out on that. hmm

    i have heard of people using the miata trans tho for the 86...since the gear ratios were much better for the 4age motor...theres some guys doing r&d right now to make some kind of mount to put the trans and motor together...shud b interesting.
