Polishing question for EJ

hey this might sound weird bu i saw your post on the wheels you did can you give me a quick rundown how you did it and what products i want to try to polish some engine bay pieces but im clueless on the process.

I asked him the same question before.

He said start with 600,800,1000,1500 grid and work your way up to 2000grid (with soap & water ONLY on 2000grid) and for the finish look, use Mother's Aluminum polish with a *clean towl,rag or w.e* Should come out pretty nice.

but thats what i dont get the sanding part wouldnt that mess up the surface or what?

See 600grid is ruff, but while you keep on going up on the grid # it's keep getting smoother (sp) and than at the end soap and water help out making it smooth like a baby's ass ....lol

Bush - Polish - is what I use on wheels and they have a sealer too for after to keep them from getting dull. I found the Mother's to be a little abrasive but if your married to Mother's then use the Billet polish instead of the Mag polish its much better.

damn didnt think you remembered that.. But when you get to 1000grit you start sanding dry and when it feels smooth enough to you start wetsanding 1000-2000 grit and very soapy water..

that would be a bit more on the difficult side depending on the finish of the turbo.. If its a Turbonetics, they are already shiny you can just make it bling more.. Other turbos im not too sure..
