    Question got a trade offer

i have a guy wanting to trade his 02 gsxr 1000 for my 05 gsxr 600.

BUT!!!!!!! he says this: "its a 02 1000, has power commander3, full yoshi, just got 600 dollar plastics, needs tires, chain, windscreen, blinkers, headlight, and taillight, and needs a new battery the on i have it too big."

he says the bike runs great just mainly needs tires. my bike has absolutely zero probs what so ever.

    WHAT SHOULD I DO?????

idk thats what i do not get. he said why am i not wanting to trade?? its a 1000, its screaming fast when u own a 600 it looks for speed...lol

its being turned back into a bike from a streetfighter. so the tailight thats on it is off a 05(like mine) so it dont fit the tail. and he's got a headlight but it isnt bright he says

the only reason why im wanting opinions is because ive been wanting a 1000 due to riding for 2 years now and wanting to move up

on that note , your bike rides fine as it sits , you trade with him (which needs work) and the being jobless factor plays a major role

    Don't trade. Keep yours.

If you think that the 600 is too slow, then you need to get on the track. The 1000 will just have more torque, which is nice to have, but you will be just fine with the power of a 600.

i loved my 600, perfect for my size, and its not cheap to get all those parts, especially when you have no job man. and if its needing a chain, then you should look into the sprockets and stuff too, make sure its mechanically sound.

Don't trade. Why was it a street fighter? Was it wrecked? If it is in street fighter form, obviously it was rode hard. Sounds like he is putting a wrecked bike back together with random parts.

Liter bikes are fun but going from a newer 600 to an older liter bike is a downgrade IMO. Keep yours and trade up to a newer 1000 if that's the size you want.

i wouldnt go anywhere near a stunt bike..... and if i was going to go anywhere near a stunt bike, i damn sure wouldnt get a gixxer stunt bike........

Any bike that was or is a street fighter is because it was beat to shit. Any bike that has had the fairings replaced, it was because it was wrecked. If he spent $600 on fairings, they were made in china, if they were made in china, theyre probably gonna warp and melt and probably fit like shit.

You never trade a newer bike for an older bike. save your money, buy the bike you want.

This also, i like liter bikes better but not because of being faster. I like the low end power and being able to short shift riding normal. when it comes to speed, i doubt youre able to ride to the full potential of your 600, so there's no reason to get a 1k.

My sportbike is an f4i..... one of the slowest ones you can buy.... but theyre durable and reliable. On my f4i i consistently out run my friend's 08 GSXR600 anytime we ride hard. I'm not even a good rider, probably below avg..... point is... the difference between a liter bike and a 600 is close enough for the rider to make the difference. When a 600 races a 1000, the better rider wins. This is often the case with any bike. picture below, the red bike outruns the blue bike. How fast the bike itself is doesnt matter, how fast are *YOU*

i was only wanting to upgrade to a 1000 because my 600 too me is small. i wanted something a little bigger. for me it aint about speed, ive been riding for 2 years now im in it for the ride and to get out and forget about the world lol and to me i think i need something bigger since i also look like a little giant on my 600 haha.

Honestly, if you are in it to ride out and forget about the world, and you want a bigger bike, get a cruiser. I traded my fun-to-ride stretched 600 to a 1600 Vulcan cruiser. I don't regret it. Eventually, i will get a Ducati 848 to add to my collection but I am perfectly content with a 1600cc V-twin.

Sounds like you need a sport touring bike then. Looks like a sportbike, better comfort than a cruiser.

you gotta ride the right one. I absolutely hated Harleys until the moment i sat on one.

I like the bigger heavier sportbikes too, look into early 2000 Hondas.

Go ride one and then get back to me on this. Goin down a long stretch of highway on your harley with the cruise control on, leaned back with your hands in your lap...... kicks the shit out of riding a crotch rocket.

the way i see it, harleys are vehicles, crotch rockets are toys. When i want to play.... i get on my sportbike....

So much truth. Although my cruiser is a land yacht in comparison to your Harley, they are of the same comfort level.

    This.

I had my '08 GSXR 600 at the track (1/8th mile) running against all liter bikes... I was being made fun of because my liter gsxr was staying beside/being beat by cbrs and r1s...

    lol.
Now when I ran a REALLY good rider on a slightly modded newer CBR1000rr, I wanted to sell my bike and go buy a Hayabusa.

I weigh around 150. With a good single exhaust, there won't be a difference in your average rider on a liter bike, but more horses and way more comfortable ride.

i wouldnt buy a busa if they did 300mph in reverse and came with a 10 year subscription to playboy and 2 free trips to the bunny ranch.............

busa is the ugliest piece of machinery that man has ever constructed. I want to throw up when i look at a busa. I hate all Gixxers just because theyre the company responsible for the busa.
