if we run down to Savannah then we can do a coastal run down to Daytona.. make it a weekend thing.. Day 1 come from North GA to Sav, Day 2 everyone starts at the same time and we end in Daytona. Lowest total time wins (that way someone doesn't lag coming into Sav and then make awesome time the next day and win by chance).

And it's a poker run cause everyone pays like $100, and then winner takes all, or you have 1st, 2nd, 3rd places, depending on how much cash is put up.

I also vote for a "cruise" section if we're really doing this for the poker aspect... people who don't want to buy in but still want to go along for the drive. That way they don't have to pay, but they're not eligible for the $$$ either. And maybe different classes, depending on how many people are interested in going.

Just throwing an idea out, what about making a cruise casino one of your stops? Most leave every night and come back that night, usually its free to board.

Deal's Gap to Savannah is 407 miles... 6.5 hours if you do well in the twisties.

Savannah to Daytona Beach FL is 240 miles... about 3.5 hours of coastal driving.

yeah ^^^ and it's not gonna be cold as hell LOL and it gives time for people to fix there cars, save money, etc, etc you know how it goes when you try to start an event and besides that's the best ending point for a cannonball, poker or any other type of run we would be on the beach with tons of college chicks if we ride down there in a big enough pack we will get all the attention and take all the other guys girl's LOL and he couldn't do nothing about it

That would be chill as hell, but I do not know when my college's spring break is, but I only go to class twice a week so I could make it work. I would be totally up for it, Ill continue to check back in here for more updates. This would be a good way to meet some of you guys.

This sounds fun.. but how does "poker style" come into play? I'm sure if there is a good amount of people going, i can get a couple of friends to come along too. Especially if we end up in Daytona for SB.

But I would recommend making it a 3 day thing. Friday morning until Sunday Night. That way those of us who are in Career's can take off a day and still be able to go.

It's a POKER run because you buy in, and then winner takes all, or 1/2/3 take all. You have destinations, and there would have to be a person already at the destination to say for sure who comes in first... We all start from one point in Deal's gap, and then we set the finish point for day one at, say, the civic center in Savannah. We have a designated start time, and everyone's time from Deal's gap to Savannah is clocked. You get to the civic center in Savannah however you want. But everyone starts in the same place, everyone finishes in the same place. At the end of day 1, all times are recorded. Day 2, same deal. Everyone starts from the civic center, destination is somewhere specific in Daytona. Everyone leaves. Times are recorded as people pull into the location in Daytona, after getting there however they feel like. At end of day 2, all times are added up for the two days, lowest time(s) win.

I read the thread.. all 3 pages. I saw the thing relating to poker was a buyin and winner takes all or 1st,2nd,3rd. But someone posted in here somewhere "Do it poker style, whoever has the best hand wins." WTF does that mean?

I'd be down if for a ride to just Savannah, I have a place I could crash down there and then drive back the next day. This would be fun, I'll have my suspension and audio done by spring break and I'll be able to get some buddies to tag along with me.

I live in Macon, I work in ATL and do PR and VIP for Compound and Q100, and I'm up for anything from anywhere north to south. And if we need to hit Daytona sometime, get enough people and I can talk to my Condo Broker for my family and get us a parking garage to end in and a meeting hall for the festivities. Plus they'd probably feed us and advertise just to bring crowds to see the cars and such. But yeah, I love Poker Runs, the card picking way works best personally, as more people have a chance and don't feel pressured to not go due to lack of speed i.e. slow cars, new cars, under construction rides, etc.

I still think that it would be a good idea to go from Helens/north georgia down to Tybee Island in Savannah. We could party on the beach - if this is going to happen on Spring Break, it will be plenty warm enough for a party on the beach.
