Mtn Run 9/24 or 10/1????
Going off of Hulud's other thread just wanted to view interest on hitting the N. GA Mtn's sunday morning! I figure it's close to the last time most people can get out since winter fall/winter is upon us.
Meeting Where: Home Depot off of GA-400 about 25-35miles north of 285! When you come up to a huge outside outlet mall it should be right across the street on the righthand side.
When: 9:30-10am on 9/24 and/or 10/1
So here's some google earth images of some of the roads I'm thinking about hitting!
This shows like the entire area of where we would be with Helen,GA being the small blip of the right bottom area of the screen with a square around it!
We would come up 19 and hit a left on 129/11 and head up the mountain! We'll stop and snap pics at this rest lodge area for 30min or so and let the cars cool off, then head east then back south on hwy 348 which (with a few turns) will take us into Helen where we'll grab lunch @ Wendy's! Head back up 348 and stop at the Mtn view or just keep riding through and instead of hitting 129/11 again early, we'll jump on hwy 180 (which is by far one of the craziest and tightest roads i've ever been on in GA).

180 will bring us back down to 60 which will take us out of the area and back down GA-400 to Atlanta.
I guess we would meet at the Home Depot parking lot in the back like usual and roll out from there! You can come filled or get gas at the next light from the Home Depot!

So you can mapquest any of those roads and see if there's a faster route for you if you live in N. GA already (gainesville, gwinnett, etc etc).
The only problem with it being this weekend would probably be the weather. On the last run I did I swear the weather forecast was the exact same and it turned out nice as hell up there! Here's weather.com's 10day outlook.
Like I said, the forecast was the exact same when we went up awhile ago but it turned out nice! If you don't trust it I see no problem in doing it the next weekend? Up for debate I guess!
So lemme know! I'll have my DSL-R so if you want decent pics of your car that'd be no problem

Basically the pics show the lodge and mtn view stops, just to get an understanding of the scene...I just wanna drive though
