thanks for the complements, I knew for a fact that my rides where not candidates for best of show but i felt that other rides where. Thanks for showing me your point of view on how you judge the ride and your right about hitting every catogory from the engine to the trunk it will make you or break you.

Well I have a few words for you, STOCK, I think not that truck has more in it then you do in all your rides together, I know for a fact that he deserved what he got cause I've been showing against Tom for the last 5 years and, if you can't take the time to open your eyes and see what is in front of you then you should just keep your mouth shut, aparently you don;t know what it takes to win a show, that truck may not have anything that just sticks out and grabs your attention, well I take that back the ghost flame (house of color) the custom install on the ICE, the glasses doors, reversed hood, the relocation of the batteries, the custom 22" wheels, all the billet on the motor and not to mention the thousands dropped in the motor work, but if you think that is stock then I would really love you to show us what would be a show winner, brought to you from the asshole of the owner of the ASirbrushed S-10, and oh I'll see all you at NOPI, wink wink!!!

I wasn’t going to respond to this thinking “its just and opinion” then after reading Paul’s post (the judge of the show and admin of IA) in how the judging was performed I was more than fine, but now something needs to be said to keep peace respect and support for the scene as a hole, for ALL different types of rides and different types of people.

Allshownogo, I understand where you are coming from and I also understand where Yellowboy69 is (btw that is not him in that shot). Like you and your brothers we are brothers too and have been in competition for quite some time swapping best-of trophies at all types of shows. One week he will pull a BOS, one week I will, it kind of goes back and forth and we both have great respect for the time, effort and design put into each others rides, I think that is why he pulled no punches on his post in defense of a close friend and competitor. No doubt you would do the same in his shoes for a brother.

I want to backtrack a few months ago to refresh your memory about a different show with different results. Yellowboy69 and I both showed at the Hideaway show on Buford HWY, I think that was a show that you submitted on IA and we supported as a team (TeamFX) which I believe had no cash payouts to the rides, we showed to support another team’s local event, something we’ve always done no matter the team. That day he took BOS, I took second and there wasn’t any complaining done their or online, we had a great time watching peeps chow hot wings, a nasty wet t contest, and enjoyed seeing different types of show rides; low-rider’s, bagged trucks, imports and hot rods all on the same playing field. It was also my first time watching hoppers in person doing there thing, which I thought was a trip. To me this is what a scene is all about, respect no matter the vehicle type or person. It takes hundreds of hours and $$$ to put together a piece of art weather it be in your eyes or mine, and for this we all deserve to be looked at more than once, I believe this is where you kind of got off base with your original post, you stated I was stock and you wouldn’t look at me more than once in a way a very hatten (as you put it) remark, sense then you’ve stated more than once you don’t, I’m good with that and do appreciate the re-evaluation after reading different posts about my L which I’m proud of as both a hotrod and show vehicle at the price of a small house.

Throughout this thread its been interesting reading to say the least, but one of the things I enjoyed reading best of all was thinkfast saying “hopefully with shows like this we can bridge the gaps”, now that’s my kind of thinking being that I too am from LA, I was there at the birth of the low-rider, I lived in the SFV (for 36 years), and I am old enough to say I watched each one of the rides in you’re pictures leave the salesroom floor. Hell when I was 7 my grandfather had a new 65 impala that I absolute loved and though it was the biggest baddest car I had ever been in until I was 16 when my father handed me the keys to a 66 coupe Deville (rag top) that I drove apart cruising the BLVD and Sunset (it was bigger and badder!). This history I give you not to boast but so that you can clearly understand I do have respect for the art that is pictured above and that I had many a friend that introduced me to the original low-rider. I’ll bet you that I could sit with you for a bit and give you history that even you don’t know, only your father would, maybe someday that will happen.

At the end I say this, let this thread die keeping the peace so that we all can show what we love and do what we love, which is to show…

well said tom. also you have to look at the cars there at the show. lets say, tim, yamil or jeff g had been there. the outcome may have been different. also i thought that the suburban or scott's 350z was going to win bos but i had no idea the amount of stuff tom had on his truck. nor did i realize how little suburban had in the way of engine mods (thereby losing points). it just makes me realize to look at all show vehicles more closely than i thought i had been doing. i have to admit im not that big of a fan of show trucks so i really dont pay attention to them. but thats my fault. so tom congrats on your BOS win.

I hear every word you say and I agree with just about everything, like i said i was voicing my opinion and some one said how it went down with the judging and i even thanked him for showing me his point of view, but if some one try to threw stones at me and not even directly i will say something.. I have much respect for all type of rides and there creaters cause my self like you love just about every type of car that has its own special touch. I hear about the your history to and to tell you the truth i love to hear them story about back in the days, special when they involve where i come from, the same streets you where at, but my home was Los Angeles (boyleheight). So if you ever want to share a story or two I more than really to listen. so with that said ill let this thread die i just wanted my voice heard because I wont leave anything inside and some people wont stand up say what they think cause there to busy brown nosing other, any ways once again Congrats to the owner of that lightning and to what i heard that this truck has it diserves the win!!!!

Well put man, yeah I agrre with you both just let it die and we'll keep the wars at the shows, let the car compete for the last words, so to speak, oh I have one other quesdtion for you AllShowNoGO: What is it about Nopi do you not like so much? I have been to a few in my time, and I'll agree with anyone who thinks there are too many people there and its always hot a hell, and it takes like half a day to hand out trophies, but i don't see it as a complete waste of time, so what gives man, all the other BS behind us, what your take on Nopi????

Nopi!! in my eyes was a good show in the mid 90's and as the years past it just seems that they where more into making a buck than promoting a car show like they use to back in lakewood. man I beat some people on here could remember how a show use to be back in those days, I mean there was all type of ride out there from Lowriders, minitrucks, imports, everything from of cross the contry!!! as the year past and the show got bigger & so did there head. F**K ill put it like this once they started to miss judging the rides, looking a people rides for 30 sconds, throwing everybody in different corners of the show, I could keep going but i know some of you already know how it is. Honestly to me it seem that it just became a expensive kick back instead of a car show like it was. Like i said i could keep going but I wont, Ill just rather go to a parking lot show than go to nopi.

just my 2cents, and there topic been drop!!

Got you I know what you mean by the 30 second look over on the rides, it seems like the judges have no interest in even being there they just wanna get done as fast as they can, I can relate to how you feel about it, but like you said it's an expensive kick back, but the most important thing I think is if your team is going then it doesn't hury you to just go and hang out with your team and show thrm support, I know I havn't really done that much this year, but my year has been kinna crazy, but I'll be going and I hope you can change your mind cause every team deserves to be represented, no matter how big or small they are. . . .
