I'm in on this! How do the practice/competition drag runs work? Could I just pay the $20 and do 2 or 3 practice drag runs then be out? I don't care to try to compete but i wana get some numbers...

Sorry... "There will be no light tree, no electronic timing, just heads up drag racing to the finish line," said Brandon Hutchison, vice president of events at AMS.

Looks like you can do practice runs from 8-9:30 maybe?

that is fucking gay. I like the idea of domestic/import thing then the final battle. But, no tree? 1/8th mile? what the hell? And when u lose, it is over. You go to comerece and race all night. True, sometimes they are busy as shit, but much better than a pit road race.

but it isn't real street racing. Street racing is the adrenaline rush of real streets, real people, real cops. I just think it is a dumbass idea. If it was a 1/4 mile, it might be worth it. AWD is more than likely going to own that competition. that is just my opinion.

IMO its going to be the big blocks that are going to win most of these.

Then again its more about the caliber of the cars that go. If its mostly ricers representing the imports, then the big blocks are going to pwn them with all the low end torque.

If some real tuners are out there, then it could be good. Down in that area theres quite a few hotrod shops, I would imagine ALOT of them are going to be out there showing off what they can do. I dont mean to offend anyone, but theres not many imports that can run with an equally built and tuned big block.

well if u wanna compare import to domestic at least stay in the same amount of cylinders...sounds to me like ur comparing the v8 big blocks to like 4 cylinders...they have twice the amount of cylinders and not twice the amount of weight. ofcourse but...i'd pick 4 cylinder imports over 4 cylinder domestics ANY day, and even some v6 imports against some v6 domestics

bring the awd's.. i've been running flat 2second, sub 2second 60' times very often at the strip...

haha, and I have an S2000 with literally zero torque... its all driver baby

we'll see.. haha, i can pull close to a flat 9seconds at around 82-86mph in the 1/8th...

You are about a couple hundred pounds lighter than most of us. I pull 2.0 60ft's also on street tires. I should be 1.8 w/ slicks and my new motor. Not sure, still waiting.

I need the 1/4 miles. It is like u said, I need to the room to catch or leave u. damn little cars!
