My high school, Centennial High, is having its 8th Annual Car Show. I just wanted to invite members of importatlanta.com to the show. Anyone free this Saturday and interested?

Stretch the only reason it bombed was because of those loud mouth kids who organized it last time....they were talking a big game, but couldn't bring anything to the table, and they did too much over hyping....I think a few people were trying to give them some advice but they didnt want it because they were in FBLA or some crap like that.

I have been to the last 3 shows and I have had no big complaints.... Judges usally dont know much, But I still have a blast and I keep comin back. Again, me living just 1/2 mile aways makes it nice to

Yeah. I remember that. I wasn't trying at all to hate on it. Just remembering a lot of people coming back on IA after the show doing a lot of complaining. If it's better this year, then awesome, lolol. Later, QD.

last year = BIGG :THUMBS DOWN:.. and i go to school at Centennial. All the cars there were basically rice, except maybe like 6 cars.. hopefully the turnout this year will be a little bit better :confused:

Also could you guys please give me feedback on what was good/bad at previous Centennial Car Shows? I'll try to make some changes if we can. Right now I am trying to get some activities together. Nothing in stone yet, so I'll let you know what we'll have for you at the show as soon as possible.

I like the show how it is, Its a high school show supporting you all, Only thing I find lacking is the judges but again, I dont care cause its just to support the school, and I will be there regardless

So the only problem you guys have is with the way the show is judged?

I was thinking that maybe the problem was not enough activities. Anyone agree?

Here's an example of something we are working on now. It would be 6 Playstation 2s connected through a router and all these PS2s would be running Gran Turismo 4. (with separate TVs for each racer) We would have to charge about a $1.00 or more per race to make profit from it. (also we would have to have restrictions/limitations to make sure we maximize profits) So what do you think about such an activity? Right now my teacher does not know if it'll happen because she believes that people may not pay to play. So that means I'll have to see if there's interest in the activity, so we can invest money into it.

p.s. we're still not sure if the PS2/GT4 thing will work out, so don't expect it there until I can confirm it.

I dont think there will be a large enough crowd to warrant setting all that up, In all the years I have done this show I have never seen a huge spectator turnout, I mean even the show cars arent out in huge numbers, so just stick with the basics, Spend more to promote the show and to get more cars and spectators, If you dont have people coming to look at the cars, there is no point to have the cars there, ya know?

I agree with Brett. You need to build the show up first. I think you will be wasting time and maybe money doing all that. My comment about judging was refering to the comment about NAPI judges. They suck, so you have an edge on them. Just take the time to promote your show and get it off. Then next year, if this year's show shows promise, add a couple of things to it. Later, QD.

Thanks for the feedback guys, but wouldn't you guys want a run on the Gran turismo 4? I thought it would be cool for owners to come over and play a few rounds. Although we are charging to play GT4, we will credit the owners with a free run or two.

I am really trying to get this idea to work, but you guys really aren't interested?

Like they said, wait until the show has a larger crowd before you add more activities. You should put that money towards advertisement in the gwinnett paper or at least see if one of the editors would be interested in running a small story about it.
