Default 2012 SCCA American Road Race of Champions

The SCCA American Road Race of Champions is not far away, scheduled for November 1-4 at Road Atlanta. I figured I'd post some info here for you all if you haven't heard about it, it's an awesome event, and there's even a chance for some cheap track time.

The "ARRC" as it's typically called is a big regional class championship weekend, think the Runoffs for regional classes. There will be Pro IT racing, ARRC championship races, a three hour enduro, and this year the SCCA Pro Racing Trans Am Series also takes part in the weekend for their final round of the 2012 season.

Want to drive on track? SCCA will be holding their PDX sessions during Sunday's quiet time. If you have a street car (yes it can be modified) that passes a very basic tech inspection (no leaking, no missing lug nuts, good tires, etc) then you can be on track at speed for $100.

If you like real racing, this event is one not to miss. There will be loads of cars in tons of different classes battling all weekend long.

    Ticket Prices

    Three Day Pass: $40.00
    Sat/Sun: $35.00
    One Day: $25.00
    Friday Only: $15.00
    Parking: $5.00

Do it. The only downside is they do enforce a noise limit since it's during the county mandated quiet time. I forget the db level.
