So the wife and I just moved here from fort Polk and are down in Augusta and all I can say is where the hell is the car scene. I would think Augusta ga would have a great car scene but there isn't a damn thing out here. Do I really have to drive to Atlanta just for a decent meet.

Not to bash (you or Augusta), but why would you think this? Augusta, just like any other smaller city, has it's share of people in the "scene," but there there has never really been anything big going on. A few people over the years of IA have came through the site, but I've never seen anything going on through them, either. Later, QD.

Best bet would be to try and pm some ppl on the forum that stay in Augusta n try your luck From there

I grew up in Augusta. i can tell you the car scene there is nothing compared to Atlanta. you can get lucky and find a hangout spot maybe on washington road on the weekend. or go to Jackson dragway on thursday night. I say take the drive. i have plenty friends that do that

Well Augusta is huge compared to Leesville louisiana which is where I PCS'd from and they cars every where (Something other than a civic with different color door panels). I guess it's just me but these roads are seriously being wasted. I guess I'll be hitting ATL on the weekends from now on.

I never heard of anything big going on out there...its too far from ATL but even out here the scene kind of sucks. The only people that go to meets are immature people with crappy cars. It seems the people with the nice cars avoid the meets, unlike cali where ALL the cars at meets are badass.
