Had a great time, glad i decided to come. I wish my trans did not take a crap on me so the finals against Matt would of been better. My times were about a second off than normaldang syncros!

Had a great time today, glad to see so many people supporting something worthwhile.
truly a great time today. I was so glad to see such an amazing turnout of people and racers. We had people come from as far as Chicago to support the event.
My car seems to still be plagued with the Showdown curse. I broke my rear differential before making it to the 60 ft mark so I was unable to compete. I think I may have broken a knuckle punching my steering wheel...lol j/k.
seriously though, there were a lot of fast cars there today and some really competitive racing and a good turnout of vendors with boths and/or tents. I really want to give a big thanks out to all the volunteer staffing that ran the event all day. I heard several compliments from people today saying how well the event had been organized and run. Lord Zed, you in particular did a super job over the PA system. I don't think it would have been possible for anyone to miss a round for lack of hearing it be announced.
So any how, here are some pics my girlfriend took and the one crappy video of my car destroying the rear diff.
Shitty vid of my car breaking.

It wasnt TOO loud was it? hehe, I cant hear how loud it is out there from the booth! I didnt see nay kids screaming and holding there ears, so I guess it was okI sure do love those track tater tots ...mmmmmmm
On a serious note, someone who is in the actual loop of information on those involved in the S2K crash, please keep us at GADSM updated. We want to follow up and do something for them. No one ever wants any injuries or accidents comming to, competing, or leaving an event.
i was there too, 3 hour drive for me. NICE turnout, wish my Supra was with me poor fella is getting painted. worth the drive. would've stayed all day but I had my little girl and sister in law with me. They were ready to go.
Was it just me or was that 10.10 vs 12.09 final AWD round awesome?
Also, guys, PLEASE for your own legal and financial safety refrain from giving details about that accident. I have been a first responder for two years and any way that they can link the persons name and the incident means that you violated the patients privacy. Please watch what you say.

A few shitty passes trying to learn the new clutch. The last pass wasnt looking too bad then poof... Something blew compression into the crank case, I have pittled with taking it apart but pretty unmotivated at the moment. Its seems its twice as hard to take everything loose when its all covered in oil from the valve cover gasket blowing out. Anyone have a video of it?
sucks i couldnt make it. im sure some of u guys took pics up there. post some so i can see what i missed
Yeah, quite a few ppl on this board know him. I don't, personally. He lost his arm in the accident. Flipped the car and was ejected from it. Prayers are definitely with him and his family.
Back to being stock and slow
just trying to check if it is a fellow friend from my local area. ppl on the local forum for here havent woke up yet or at work. if the car had a CGR sticker on the sides then he is from my local area.
Guys I don't know the S2k driver, however as stated in another thread by a MOD, please refrain from detail about the accident.

I wanted to wait after the dust settle before posting...
First off I'm the blue MAZDA RX3 that ran 8's. I can say that the event was to die for and enjoy, the smiles on folks faces were priceless I will look forward to attending again. I only have a few issues. That track needs to be prepared a lil better for the next event ... I went to do a shake down pass and almost smack the wall.. I had intended to run a 7sec run that day but was unable because of traction issues. Safety is the most important thing. If we see idiots doing 360's in the parking lot or draging the cars in the paddock where our(kids, wife, or family) claim sancuary they need to be escorted out ASAP and never returned. Folks thats why we come to the track to feel safe and return back home to our loved ones.
I know exactly who you are talking about and I was just stretched thin to get over there and find them. Tower spotted them immediately and he quit from what they said. Prep seemed good from what I hear, it would explain all the broken driveline parts atleast. What class were you competing in Seven?
I'll second that. We do NOT tolorate people driving like that. The Evo going all Ken Block at the end of the day left immediatly after his bout of 360's (if we are talkign about the same car) and we didnt have the chance to chase him down. We take safty to the utmost concern. Not only does it risk the safty of our spectators, but we dont want any trouble with the track for people acting this childish. I constantly try and announce to keep the speeds down and to drive safely. We have and will eject any one who cant follow those simple rules.
i had a great time despite fighting the flue and red lighting like a idiot lol. It was nice to meet lord zed and sit in the ac for a minute after trying to get qualifying fixed but all and all it was a great event just wish i would have felt better.

My class I entered was Showdown.. The broken parts could hve been several things as well... Im only bringing after action comments for next time, the track team were very friendly and the Tec team were very savy(knowledgable) in what the were looking at. We are all out hear to learn from others and take it back to our home front to do better next go around. When this event brings more single digit import cars the level of respect and preparation will be expected always. I would love to see next time: Top MPH/Lowest E.T. and maybe a bracket class(class against class) at the end ALL GREAT JOB !!! When is the next date?
i would love to see slicks in the all motor street class.

wish I could have went, but a 2 hour drive for this just wasn't going to happen![]()
well ive never hooked on drag radials so i left on the stage limiter which is setup for slicks (6,000) excpecting it to blow them up. It was first round qualifying so i didnt care just wanted to see what the radials would do well they hooked and broke a 400hp axle . I never expected that to happen at all and no im not in a 7 second car just saying i run this track all year and for this track it was hooking thats all.

Congrads brotha... I dont want the thread to be about a seasonal race car v.s. a full blown drag car hooking on whatever type of tires. I 've raced many tracks and if you were to see the car slide from the 8th down you would know what Im talking about. A 400hp street car with open axles lsd or open diff is a breeze to tame v.s. a 4digit hp scaled chassie car solid rearend with a spool on slicks. Its not my first rodeo i have a bit of knowledge how much a track has been prep, dragged, sprayed, and blown and how much power to put down....
The event was great love the import scene no more attacks on the tracks preparation it was supposed to be constructive ...... lord

If you guys have questions, suggestions, or concerns about the event please PM me. Myself and a few others run the event with the help of the volunteers. Final decisions towards the rules are left up to Gadsm.org officers and a few chosen members. Feel free to discuss anything you want to address on Gadsm.org under the Import Showdown section of our website. If you need to speak with someone about the event PM Gastroker, Lord Zed or myself. Their are other officers on this board but I am unaware of screen names here. The best way to get your suggestions through are to come on Gadsm.org.
We are open to suggestions and the consensus is that people want slicks in the All Motor class.
Top_Speed, I spoke with you on the phone the other day feel free to call me with any questions. I will get you the information as promised, still re-cooperating after the event and rounding out some other projects.
