Speedminded: I was thinking, it would be sweet if we could have some phototakers set up down certain parts of the road we will be traveling to get some awesome motion shots of everyone!
yesh, been wanting to do that forever...i've gotten a few flyby stills and video but that was before i learned about shutter speed...setup on the inside of a turn and get everyone coming around the corner out of it...Originally Posted by Nemesis

I'm in for the run. I'll have one passenger. '98 Nissan Maxima on coilovers blah blah
I look forward to meeting you guys, see you all on sunday.
Got a few questions. Ive read the thread a couple times and im curious.
Are we cooking out before doing some runs ?
Is it going to be an organized group doing runs or are we going at free will during the afternoon?
Mike! tell me that Miata is purring like a kitten today fool. I'd suggest pulling the new plugs and see what they look like...
you'll have a nice little run just getting up to the park for the cookout. We'll be making a few stops on the way to let everyone regroup, take a few pics, and maybe get a few last minute things at one of the gas stations up there. On one of the stops i'll elect one or two people to make a run up alone to "check out the scenary"Originally Posted by Nemesis
ya now what i meannn?
oh yeah, afterwards...we'll just see what everyone wants to do. Some people may not want to go on hwy. 180, some may want to hit up Richard B. Russell, and others try 129 again...i'm still debating on doing an actual route as a whole or letting a few "leaders" be tour guides and split up into groups. I can do either last minute so it's gonna depend on how many we have show up. I'd almost rather just do one big group and make a few loops and figure 8's...129, 180, 348, 75, back down 180 to 129 to 180 over to 60 down and back around up 129, etc...there are so many options and we have enough "veterans" in the group to make a decision then...Originally Posted by Nemesis

I guess it will mainly depend on where I'm at in the pack. If I'm toward the front, I'll face the camcorder rearwards!Originally Posted by Nemesis
Eventually I'll try to get together a setup that goes front and rear so I won't have to worry about "which way do I point this thing!"!!!!!

whats the weather looking like for this weekend
Sunny and Mild all weekend, with chilly mornings.
Speaking of things to do, I have to see if I can get my carbon fiber hood looking any more decent. The finish is oxidizing or something. I have some rubbing compound but I think it just needs a new coat of clear!
Then I'll have the wash and wax thing to do. I've already done an oil change and checked other things (just did an emissions!).
Just wish I had some sticky tires...

Get a cheap orbital buffer (anythign professional and you risk damaging whatever UV / Gelcoat on the hood. Once you have the orbital take some meguiars paint cleaner, which is basically a semiabrasive compund and use the buffer to rub it in the hood, moving around rapidly. The pad may become gunked up after the first coat or two. Throw the pad away or wash it clean and dry. After that apply a couple droplets of polish and either apply by hand or new pad on the buffer. Dont glob on the polish because a little goes a lot further than globs. You should start to see a nice finish, if not you might have to repeat the steps again. ONLY USE MICROFIBER towels to buff out whatever you apply, anything else and you risk swirls and scratching paint. After the polish step apply a thin coat of wax. You have to be careful using a wax on an uncleared CF hood.
They sell em for like 15 bucks at Wally world I think? Ive got two lolOriginally Posted by Daily Interlude
