    About how far is the spectators from the cars as they run? Looks pretty far (and small spot) compared to the left where the cars seem to be running right next to the road / end of the parking lot. Trying to figure out how much length of lens I need. Anyhow, I'll be there with a few choices

    I would guesstimate 50 ft. Those course lines are from past events. This weekend the cars will be starting between the two "islands" and going up towards the big horse shoe. Spectators usually lines the front of the pit area also. You shouldn't have a problem getting good shots.
