Default Import vs Domestic event in Steele, AL

Import vs Domestic event in Steele, AL
One of my friends is sponsoring this event on May 2nd and 3rd. There will be a Dyno competition in Trussville, AL on the 2nd, and a drag competition in Steele, AL on the 3rd. Everything is supposed to be 400whp and up, w/ a couple over 1000whp. All street legal, and have to be driven there, but may be trailered home. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

    Here's a link w/ more info : http://dixiemusclecars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3209

I'm planning on going to spectate. It looks like a pretty good time. I hope to see a good turn out.

    Thanks,
    James Stanton

If I got slicks by then I plan to head out He told me FWD can use slicks and RWD can ONLY use DOT street legal tires.... Should be fun!

i think awd must use dot tires, too. it'll be interesting to see how fast a 1000 hp rwd car will do on street legal tires.

you have to drive the car there? fuck that...even if you can tow it home.

    That's called inconvenience.

Besides, thats the same race day as Import Showdown.

they don't say how far you have to drive from. also you need a tag and insurance to prove it's a street car i guess.

Could be a cool deal except the "driving there" part. That is just freakin stupid. Thats about a two and a half hour trip for me and I would have to buy gas for two vehicles going out there. FUCK THAT!

Make it so you have to have a current tag and insurance, headlights, brakelights, turn signals and that should be good enough. If they let you tow it coming and going, I'm in. Otherwise, hell naw.

mickey thompson et streets are street legal....bias ply tire with 3 rain grooves, might as well be a slick...besides the fact that there is atleast one car in the 6's@200+ on drag radials....not as hard as you may think
