I would say there is a big difference in "being there" and "stopping by". There were 40+ that signed up for the event last year. We had people from numerous states come out and have a blast. Yes, we had some hick ups. the AutoX getting canceled at the last minute had allot to do with it. We also put the event together in ONE month.Originally Posted by simontibbett
This is a multiple day event. We try not to schedule the crap out of it so that everyone feels welcomed to freely roam and see what the SCCA and Road Atlanta have to offer. I have been a SCCA member since I was 10 years old. Working the SCCA for the event allows us to help build awareness. They are 100% behind us and the longevity of the event. We have never eluded the fact our event is part of an SCCA weekend.
We did have track time, Touring laps on Sat and for those that wanted to go faster, the PDX on Sunday.
This year is looking better and better each day. Final stages of planning are in the works and more will be announced soon.
So I would say, rather than continuing to say the event was not what it should have been, why not post about the positives? I can assure you no one will remember the "car count" of '08 after '09. I can assure you those that decide to "be there" will have a blast.
simontibbett, If you decide to "stop by" this year look me up. I will have a few cold ones for you. ( that is if you are of age)
