Thanks for the comments and well wishes from everyone. You'd be surprised at how much fun this actually turns out to be.

When we first started doing this several years back we only had maybe 5-6 people that we didn't know show up... Now we have at least 15 along with 15-20 that we do know. We always have an awesome time and with the weather looking up for us this year should be the best so far.

    Short story time.

Two years ago we had a family with 2 kid's that were down on their luck. We knew ahead of time that they wanted to come but didn't feel comfortable since they had no idea who we were. I mean taking your kid's to a strangers house for Thanksgiving isn't the smartest thing to do now a days so I understood completely. I found out where he worked at (Hardware store) and started going by there about every other day (sometimes twice a day) and buying stupid stuff but always making it a point to see him while I was there. Within a few visits I mentioned Thanksgiving plans and us having no family and he fell right in to the trap. Not even 5 minutes later I had him agreed to bring his family to our house for the Holiday. Once they were here for a little while he came to me and told me that he had known about our "open house" but he didn't feel good coming into a strangers house and welcoming himself to their food but after talking to me he felt very comfortable. He wasn't sure if I was the same one as the invite from a week or so before through friends but I knew I was.

A few months later he accepted a job up north so they moved back to their hometown. We have never heard from them again but I know in my heart that they had as much fun as we did on that Giving day. Oh and their Christmas was awesome thanks to a "secret" elf that had the gifts special delivery to their home on Christmas Eve. That was probably the "best" Thanksgiving ever for us but we will continue and try to top that awesome day each year to come.

So even if you have some place to go feel free to stop by for desert in the afternoon if ya have time.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

P.S. Anyone here speak fluent Spanish
that can help us deliver Thanksgiving
    food Wednesday afternoon?
