Subjective....I wouldn't be caught dead driving the car I drive at the track on the street. Neither would 99.9% of the general public. It would pass, has working lights, has lights and DOT tires and has never won a race. It's a track car though. You don't go pick up the dog food in the I.P car in New Orleans. Sparky can't climb over the cage to get in and neither can 81 year old grandma.

More power to you simon. I'd just think it would be funny if some ready to club race car won and they got any form of glory out of it. I could bring this M3 so people could go WOW look at that time, but it just wouldn't be fair. Believe me or not if I did decide to do that, i'd donate whatever I won to the 2nd place car.

One persons dd doesn't have to be the same as someone elses dd... Some people could care less about the creature comforts, and would rather have something radical on the street... I for one like seeing cars that don't fit the cookie cutter image. Maybe its just me but I like crawling over door bars and loud exhaust on the street...

come on guys, let it drop about what is and what isnt a street car...it's always gonna be subjective...i just threw out what most drag competitions use. that is generally:

front half interior with carpet. seats are of any make or form as long as driver and passenger seat are there. along with factory door panels and factory dash with most front interior plastic. cages were always permitted for safety reasons.

jason my choose to go less than this or require more but it's his event so our opinions dont matter. my

i say there should be different classes. All must be driven there on the street. Must run on DOT tires (even a DOT-R is legal). and pretty much everything else goes.

a street car is any car that CAN be driven on the street. i.e. street legal. the end. in some peoples case, thats closer to a full blown race car than others, but if they want to sacrifice creature comforts etc. they can.

if someone wants to bitch and say "hes faster because he has no interior and a cage", let them. their car could be built the same way but THEY CHOOSE NOT TO.
