Received a call from a customer that wants to make his E46M generate enough power to hit the 200mph mark at the Texas Mile mark next May. He's already hit the mark with two previous cars. He also wants to install the AA Level 2 S/C kit on his wife/girlfriend's E46M as well. This will be interesting.
Off to Kennesaw!! Hopefully this won't hurt too bad....

For some reason, I have been getting a lot of phone calls requesting me to roll fenders. I'm not sure how it exactly worked out but it doesn't bother me. lol.
Soooo, after driving the mk5 GTI today...I think that just about did it for me.
Those damn Germans do it right every time.

The S54 is a solid motor. In fact, there are many 600+whp setups utilizing stock internals. You bought a car that has passed many hands therefore you cant confirm who did what. The fact that you were also having issues with the original ECU doesn't help in terms of the tune and what you were trying to do with it.
You apparently didn't learn from the Porsche, did you? The VW in terms of cost and reliability will not be much less than the Porsche. Even if you buy one with a warranty doesn't mean that warranty will last forever.
I was waiting for you to say something lol I am well aware of this fact, actually. I've thought about it and still have LOTS of time to think about it (several months, to be exact).
Speaking of which...should I bring the Porsche in for the CEL or just let it go for now? I highly doubt it's the o2 sensor. It throws that code up every time.

You have a solid car now that will last for a long ass time as long as you maintain it. Much smarter route to go, IMO.
Yes, bring the Porsche back in. We need to figure that stupid code out once and for all.
I know, I know. German vs Japanese. I even told the salesman that I'll be kicking myself in the ass for going German again, and he laughed and actually agreed. Normally they go the "I don't know, these cars are pretty reliable" route, but he was pretty straight up lol
Speaking of repairs not being much less than the Porsche, I actually don't mind paying for the Porsche. My parents make a big deal out of it, but it actually makes me a little proud. Why? I haven't the slightest fucking clue. I guess proud Porsche driver??? Flaws and everything? I get kinda excited paying for it.
And I agree. I'm getting so tired of seeing that CEL. Tires are off balance too, but I can get that fixed elsewhere.

Think about the cash you could save in your account by owning a Japanese vehicle. If you were older and had a solid career job, that'd be one thing.
Let Discount Tire balance the wheels using the road force machine. Have they always been out of balance or just recently? I don't recall this being an issue. I'd like to get the Porsche fixed and not have to think about it again.
I'm absolutely disgusted by the way the Mk5 GTI feels. I used to kinda maybe sorta dig them, but after playing with the shifter and with it's even more delayed throttle response..I couldn't get out of that car any faster.
This on both points!
I'll balance them out perfectly for ya!

To be honest, the Miata was a dumb purchase for me, as well. I should've thought about what I wanted instead of what everyone else wanted for me. That was my biggest mistake, but the only thing I can do now is take it as a learning experience.
Yes, it's a recent issue. And I agree 100% with you on that one.

After driving it for that weekend, I enjoyed the car, but could not wait to get back into my car. In the GTI you are just left guessing if you are in the right gear or if you are releasing the clutch at the right point since you feel nothing. But in the Miata you are one with the car and feel its every move and you know exactly what you are doing.
Eh...everyone has their opinions
This is for ME...not everyone else. The one point I missed with the Miata.
As far as personal driver preference goes, I enjoyed it. And that's all that matters.
Everything else is still to be decided.

Seized Rod Bearings are common on these cars, they were recalled for it. Its right now, and time for it to go.

BMW had a bad run of rod bearings but have since been revised. HPF still utilizes the factory rod bearings in all they're builds (unless requested by the customer for something else) that produce 1k+whp.
I appreciate and like the looks of the GTS coupes but the twin turbo setup is not needed unless you're specifically looking for straight line performance as they're already a handful to manage around a road course. There is a red one with gold stripes sitting on HRE wheels that is often found at RA. That one made me really like the looks of the car and to this day, my favorite one I've come across. If I were to buy one, it would need to be the new ACR. It recently regained the title of the fastest time around the 'ring; 7:12.

I agree with it. You're definitely a bike guy over cars, IMO. If you taught me how to become a better rider, I would join you.
