I really need to get some time behind the new trans/clutch combo before drag day and to put some miles on it before beating the crap out of it at the drag strip.


What's the Tech Insp like and card fee? I have a trunk mounted Batt without the mandatory kill switch do you think SDR techs will flag it?

Ya whats involved with running at the track? Helmet required? I dont want to know, my roommate does.

the last time i went.. the tech involved the dude looking at my tech card... and signing it... he didnt look under the hood.. in the car.. nothing like that... i don't know if its always like that.. but it was that night. I think it was $20 to race if i remember correctly..

at a normal track with normal tech inspection they check to make sure your battery is secure.. your wheels and tires are on properly.. if you have a cage it is to spec.. if you are running nitrous it has all the proper safety gear.. etc.. no big deal really. I'm pretty sure at SDR you are only required to wear a helmet if you are running 12.99 or faster. I was running low 13's in the camaro all night without a helmet and was never questioned..

Secure battery, helmet, long pants, covered shoes, and 13.99-faster requires a rollbar.


11.99 or quicker is supposed to have a cage by NHRA rules, but sometimes they turn their heads at bracket racing on that.

some tracks require shutes for 10.99 or quicker if there isn't much runoff.

N2O must have a blowdown tube, they check for a catch can.

I an a 9.52 on a bike and they asked me to put on leathers.
