I started trying to restore the faded stitching on my DC5R wheel. I'm using the red liquid ink pen like most people suggest and it looks pretty decent, but it's not as "deep" as the stitching on my DC5R shift boot. Also I'm concerned with longevity. Autumn said tomorrow she will try to use fabric dye, but idk how much better that will work.
    How's it looking so far?

Is this on the new wheel?

Correct. The wheel itself was in good condition, so good call. No discolored leather like I had feared. The stitching was faded, which we already knew; common issue with any type R stuff that's 10 years old. The JDM airbag, mine was in better condition so this one is up for sale.

    1. I'm very meticulous, if it starts to fade again it's going to bother me to no end.
    2. There is the possibility the color doesn't hold and starts coming off on my hands.
    3. It's not like it takes forever, but it's meticulous. Especially inconvenient if I have to pull the wheel off again or try to recolor the thread with it mounted.

What kind of ink pen are you using daniel? Metal tip? You might also be able to get a sharpie in red fine point?

As far as dye goes, you could always try rit dye, but id be worried about it possibly staining the leather trying to apply it to the stitching (assuming the thread is cotton)

You are correct, it's a Pilot Precision v5 fine tip. I tried the sharpie fine tip and it doesn't seem to work any better. The due staining the leather was a concern for me.

So has anyone experienced their iphone sending out random old texts? I was texting steve earlier asking about what wheels he would be selling on his blue subbie, and apparently my phone said to me, "fuck you, im asking about the title again instead." So instead of "what wheels will be on it?" it sent Steve "is the title clear?"

    FML.

It's a quirk related to iMessage Joe. Hopefully it will be addresses when iOS 5.1 drops circa March 9.

Just gotta adjust the valves, put now valve cover gaskets on it, and drop it in! Then comes all of the wiring and new fuel lines. Can't fuckin wait to see how it turns out. It had a few scored bearings, and cracked top ring on #5 Cylinder when I tore it down. This time I went back in with 3/4 groove main bearings, coated main and rod bearings, Moly Rings, High Volume oil pump, gasket matched lower to heads, and a little tighter gap on the rings, oh and this time i'm trying a 4 deg retard on the cam. Hopefully I will break the 400 Rwhp mark but I am not holding my breath on that one. If I make 380 Rwhp I will be extremely happy. If I do make the 400 mark I will let Steve give everyone an Old Fashioned!!!

Anywhere except La Hacienda or Taco Mac. Chili's, Long Horn, Outback, SnS, the Mexican place in Senoia, El Ranchero, just to name a few, would be acceptable choices lol.
